About the Author
Thank you for taking this opportunity to get to know me.
My name is Courtney, and I am a creative marketing coordinator with big dreams and even bigger goals.
If you were to ask me where I'm "from," I couldn't give you a clear (or short) answer; however, it's likely that we've lived in the same place before, perhaps even at the same time.
At the age of 23, I've moved 10 times, each being to a new city in a different state. While this perpetual relocation strikes fearing the hearts of many, I consider myself lucky to have met countless incredible people and shared unforgettable experiences.
The resiliency I was forced to develop has become an essential part of me and I wouldn't be the person I am today without my unique past.
In May of 2017, I obtained my Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina with majors in Finance and Marketing and a minor in French Language.
It should come as no surprise that the next logical step for me was to pick up and move across the country to Phoenix, Arizona to embark upon my journey as a young professional businesswoman. In my mind saw my future in a high-rise office wearing my favorite stilettos with a briefcase in hand.
...Nobody told me that it wouldn't be quite so glamorous.
In my first year "adulting," I launched my very first blog, NOVEL THOUGHTS, both as a creative outlet from my mind-numbingly dull 9 to 5 job and also simply because an old ex-boyfriend told me I couldn't.
Fate connected me to the amazing team at SparkPoint Studio, a publicity firm that specializes in promoting female storytellers. As the company's digital marketing coordinator, I work closely with authors and influencers to strategize and execute multifaceted promotional digital campaigns.
I know this all seems to make sense in hindsight, but I promise it didn't always feel like it would.
My greatest strength has always been feeling a need to do better, and having the drive to actually get there. Better at school, better at work, better overall... I don't think I'll ever be satisfied.
That said, I'm far from perfect and I know it's important to celebrate all of life's victories. On my blog, I plan to detail all of them - whether it's a hugely successful campaign at work, an amazing book I just finished, or even a new local restaurant I uncovered - I'll be sharing updates on my progress.
So whatever your reason is for visiting my site, welcome. I invite you to join me on this journey to do better and achieve more than I could've ever believed to be possible.
